Grand Hotel Budapest

A design project inspired by Wes Anderson's film, Grand Hotel Budapest.

Set in a dreamlike, fictional, and unreal world crafted from Eastern European countries, the film exudes the whimsical style characteristic of Anderson's work. Anderson's cinematic universe appears as if conceived by a child, carrying both a certain innocence and a profound maturity. His distinctive style navigates between magical realism and the ambiance of a vintage tale, seamlessly blending fantasy with reality. The film incorporates scale models, dioramas, and painted skies into its storytelling.

A winter collection was curated with two series, drawing inspiration from the film's aesthetic, lush landscapes, dioramas, and figurative elements. The central concept revolves around creating depth through the composition of the pieces and the optical illusion generated by the dioramas. This involves working with layer overlays of organic shapes and subsequently introducing geometric shapes and modular repetition.
