Metamorphic Mimesis

An experimental jewelry project centered on the use of plastic, specifically High Impact Polystyrene (PSAI) sheets. The project explores the concept of mimesis, interpreting it as an imitation and repetition that gradually transforms, loses the shape of the original, and becomes deformed—referred to as metamorphic mimesis.

The inspiration for this concept stems from the experience of creating molding lines, tracing them sequentially, and observing the process where errors are transferred, leading to shapes that do not perfectly align. To delve into the form, an investigation into the subject of vibration was undertaken. Vibration, defined as a repetitive movement and the propagation of waves, produces deformations and stresses on a continuous medium.
